Peggy Nance

Peggy Nance, 76, of Hillsboro, MO, an incredible human being, passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2024. Peggy embodied love and kindness throughout her life, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to know her.

Born in 1948, Peggy was determined and hardworking. She graduated in 1966 from St. Joseph's Catholic School in Farmington. Later in life, while balancing a full-time job and raising her children, she pursued her college education at Maryville University and graduated with her accounting degree. Her dedication and perseverance led her to a remarkable career at BUNZL Distribution, where she rose to the position of Information Systems Vice President before her retirement.

Peggy was also a dedicated parishioner and lector at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, having served on the parish council. Prior to this, she was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bonne Terre, where she served on the parish council and school board. Peggy was instrumental in reopening the elementary school in the mid-1970s, a testament to her commitment to her community and faith.

In her personal life, Peggy was a recreational golfer. She celebrated many victories on the course, including a hole-in-one, but it was the friendships and connections she forged through the game that she cherished most.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally and ferociously. She is survived by her daughters, Lisette Nance Maloney and her spouse, Dave Maloney Sr., and Robyn Nance; her son, Murray Nance Jr., and his spouse, Jennifer Herman Nance; and her beloved grandchildren: Jordan and David Maloney Jr., McKensie, Nicholas, and Ryan Griep, Linzy Griep Wontorcik, Christin Nance Balan and her husband, Dean Balan, Katie and Kevin Nance, Rachel Giustino Konopka and her husband, Adam, and Lindsey and Meredith Giustino.

Peggy is also survived by her mother, Pat AuBuchon, and her siblings: Linda and Dave Buerck, Joe and Kathy AuBuchon, Steve and Diane AuBuchon, and Lisa and Scott Hammack.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father Bryant Joseph "BJ" AuBuchon and the love of her life, Murray Nance, Sr.

Peggy's family, friends, and colleagues will remember her for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support. She leaves a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire all who know her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Rest in peace, Peggy. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
